The sound quality is fine for the four six inch speakers I use. I do not have an amplifier hooked up. It comes with a remote that works well. You can also purchase the remote head unit for it that is great, except that you can't dim the bright remote head, it's an issue while night boating. It does not have an input in the front for USB, it has a 3' cord out of the back. I just ran it behind my microwave on the boat and used Velcro to hold the plug up on the bulkhead. Nothing really special about this unit, works fine for the price. Needs a front USB port, that's my only dislike.
